The Summary Plan Description is a comprehensive document that provides details about your plan benefits and coverage. It describes how to get medical care, what health services are covered and not covered, and what portion of the health care costs you will be required to pay. Please read this document carefully and refer to it whenever you require medical services. In addition, Aetna provides what is known as a ‘Schedule of Benefits’ which offers much more detailed information than the other two types of plan summaries.
